The seventh FABIAN symposium: "The value of biomedical analysis: a world of differences", took place on 6 November 2007 in Beerse, Belgium. Our host was Janssen Pharmaceutica. Three major topics, disciplines, were presented: assays for patient safety, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. The program was divided into 2 parts, first each of the topics was discussed from a more theoretical point of view and secondly the practical implications were regarded. Both parts were rounded of by a forum discussion chaired by professor Jos Thijssen.
