The sixth new FABIAN symposium had taken "The BioAnalytical Chain" as theme and took place on October 26 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Our host was Wout van Bennekom and presented was a varied program including 7 oral presentations focused on the sub sequential steps in the bioanalytical chain: sampling (Theo de Boer, Xendo), sample processing (Gerard Haak, Spark Holland), high resolution HPLC (Klaus Unger), LC-NMR (Wim Luijten, Servier), LC-ICP-MS (Jaap Wieling, Xendo), LC-MS/MS (Wilfried Niessen, hyphen MassSpec) and validation (Philip Timmerman, J&J).
