HOW TO GET THERE

ATTENTION!

DIRECTIONS HAVE CHANGED DUE TO ROADWORK

NEW DIRECTIONS:

Public transportation

The main Gent railway station is the Gent Sint-Pieters station. It is some 2.5 km from the city centre but well connected by tramway with this city centre. There is also a bus connection from the railway station to the faculty buildings. To take the bus, follow direction “A” when leaving the train. After leaving the station, go to the right, towards bus stop 21 (near the red building from “Project Gent-Sint-Pieters) to take bus n° 65 or 67, direction “Gent Handelsmarkt”. There is a bus every half hour (8u15, 8u47, 9u11, 9u41; see www.delijn.be), and the ride takes about 15 minutes. Get off the bus at the bus stop “UZ K12”, the faculty building rear entrance is 200 m back from where the bus came from, the building is indicated “FFW” on top.

One can also take the tramway, line 4 (direction “Zwijnaardebrug”) in front of the railway station. This brings you every 8 min. to the main entrance of the UZ Gent (academic hospital), tram stop “Galglaan/De Pintelaan”. It takes an approx.10 min. walk to reach the faculty building. This tramway (4) can also be taken in the city centre main tram stop (“Korenmarkt”) and it brings you without tram changings to close to the faculty (might take some 20 min. from the city centre!)

By car

From the E40 and the E17 (south) highways: take the E17 in the direction of Antwerp, exit UZ Gent, turn right, cross the bridge and take the first street (“Ottergemsesteenweg”) right (NOT the entrance to the highway which comes first !). Then drive until a small roundabout and go left (4th exit), “Harelbekestraat”. Follow this street to the end, enter the university grounds, pass the large student home on your right and turn towards the faculty building.

From the E17 (north, coming from Antwerp) highway: take exit UZ Gent and follow as above.

The faculty building is marked in brown letters: “FFW”
