The 11^th FABIAN symposium

This year FABIAN again organizes its symposium. The 11th FABIAN symposium will this time take place in Ghent, Belgium, on Thursday, September 22, 2011. You are hereby cordially invited to join us at the Ghent Universtity. Program and registration information can be found below.

In this one-day FABIAN meeting, it is our aim to bridge the gap between small molecule bioanalysis, with focus on miniaturisation (microsampling, microdosering), and the bioanalytical world of macromolecules. On the verge of our second decade as a bioanalytical forum, we also want to reflect with you all on the direction in which we think FABIAN should evolve the forthcoming years. We are very much looking forward to your participation to this exiting event.

Een van de doelstellingen van het FABIAN is te fungeren als medium voor informatie-uitwisseling, kennisbank en vraagbaak voor de biomedische en bioanalytische gemeenschap in Nederland en Vlaanderen. Om aan deze doelstelling te kunnen voldoen wordt er onder andere jaarlijks een symposium georganiseerd. Gebruikelijk vinden deze bijeenkomsten alternerend plaats bij de farmaceutische industrie en universiteiten.

Deelname aan de symposia is gratis voor studenten aan universiteiten en hoge scholen. Presentatie van onderzoek relevant voor de FABIAN doelgroep via posters zal vrijwel altijd mogelijk zijn na vooraanmelding bij het secretariaat. Ruimte voor orale presentaties is helaas wel beperkt. Vroegtijdige aanmelding bij een der bestuursleden wordt aangemoedigd.

Op 4 november 2010 werdt het 10de Fabian symposium gehouden in Utrecht. Het eerste symposium in 2001 ging over doping en we wilden hier bij ons lustrum symposium op terugkomen. Het thema van de lezingen was 'Doping opnieuw geanalyseerd', waarbij meningen uit het veld en speculaties over de toekomst centraal stonden.
 
Het symposium in november betekende helaas ook afscheid van onze zeer gewaardeerde voorzitter Wout van Bennekom. Voor hem was dit het laatste Fabian symposium waarbij hij de werkgroep voorzat. Jaap Wieling heeft het voorzittersschap overgenomen.

FABIAN heeft sinds haar doorstart in de zomer van 2001 reeds 10 symposia georganiseerd:
